美辞麗句の虫

この虫は口吻が花のようになっており、とても美しい音色や香りを出す。またその音量や香りは結構大きく、まるで自分に言い聞かせ、酔わせているようでもある。

保身もしくは強い警戒心から本音を口に出来ず、また相手より優位に立ちたい、弱みを見せたくないなどの理由から、
綺麗な事だけを言いたくなる日がある。
そこで出る美辞麗句は本心からそう思っているわけではなく無意識の打算による、あくまで「自分という商品の広告としてのセリフ」である事が自分でも分かって後から少し辛くなるものだ。

せっかくなら中身もそれに伴うようになりたい為、お守りとして制作した。
もしかしたら中身も言葉に付いてきてくれるかもしれない。

The Insect of Flowery Eloquence

This insect has a proboscis shaped like a flower, and it emits very beautiful sounds and fragrances. Its volume and scent are quite strong, as if it is both speaking to and intoxicating itself.

Sometimes, out of self-preservation—or a strong sense of caution—it becomes impossible to speak one’s true feelings. There are also times when one wants to appear superior to others, or avoid showing vulnerability. For such reasons, there are days when one feels inclined to say only beautiful things.

However, these are not genuine beliefs, but rather unconscious calculations—essentially lines spoken as “advertisements for oneself as a product.” One is aware of this even while saying them, and afterward it can feel a little painful.

I made this as a kind of talisman, wishing that my inner self might come to match the beauty of those words. Perhaps, in time, my substance will follow my language.
